The Story
Tableaux was born out of a frustration that is all too familiar to anyone who has worked in the private chef industry: clients who didn't understand what they were paying for, and talented chefs undercut by commission-heavy platforms that treated them as inventory rather than artisans.
Moira A. Douglas has spent years working as a personal chef in Palm Beach County and as the founder of The Silver Spoon Personal Chef Service. She has sat across from clients who balked at fair pricing because they had no reference point, and she has watched skilled colleagues leave the profession because the economics didn't work.
Tableaux was designed to fix both problems at once. Before a client ever submits an inquiry, they are educated on what private chef services actually cost — and why. And when a chef joins Tableaux, they keep everything they earn. No commissions. No percentage skimmed off the top. Just a flat membership that keeps the platform running and a human curator making thoughtful matches.
